Up an at 'em

Today Dusty and I rolled out of the cozy bed and went for our run. Today I start my new hours which is nice because then I will be home earlier and running before work means I get it out of the way first thing and with no excuses.

We had a good run yesterday too so we are hoping to make this a habit!

Running over the weekend

Dusty and I only managed a 6 mile run over the weekend. I thin we might fit in a 2 mile one. I am rolling back my marathon training a week simply because I don't want to peak too early and to give my hip a break. Hope to get into a groove soon!

Back on track, I hope

Dusty and I are out to run 6 miles this lovely morning. We did not brave the wind the last two days, more my fault than his. I stayed in and worked on a project for a friend instead. I have decided that I need to get back to my routine of rolling out of bed and going for a run because I will be less likely to find something else to do. I always tell people I like to run, but I am not obsessive about it and will find excuses to do something else, which I have. I have asked to adjust my hours to 8-4 as well and will be on that schedule by the end of the month. It will hard in the winter time to get out there but I will be able to enjoy it in the summertime! So off we go to start getting in the habit of running at 6 a.m. because I gotta to be to work an hour earlier. Thank goodness Dusty is a morning person!

Blow Me Down

I wasn’t really up for running because of the wind I could hear howling outside but when you have a running partner like Dusty, you never have to run alone. We only ran 2 miles because of the rain and wind but it was a good run. My Helly Hansens kept me warm and on the way to work on my bike, I was wishing I hadn’t ran as it was difficult to cycle and my legs were sore but now I am happy about it now as I have completed my day.

Back in action and ready to rock!

Dusty and I have been laying low for the last few days to allow my hip to heal from the long Christmas Challenge on Tuesday but we managed 4 miles and everything feels okay.

I was excited to try out the new Helly Hansen kit that Jon got me for Christmas. I told him I needed thermal running gear since Dusty and I are still braving the cold for our runs. I have to admit when I first tried them on I wasn't sure that they would be warm enough because they are as thin as the tights I run in but today I was really warm! I guess the Royal Marines know what they are talking about (apparently they wear them when they are training).

Anyways, we are back on track for Janathon which means we will be running everyday. On my rest days I will be only doing 2 miles but I think this is a great way to get started on the training!
